Project Manager/Land Development

Southeastern Building Corporation (“SBC”) is seeking to add a new team member for Project Manager/Land Development to support its ongoing and future growth.


SBC is a regional homebuilder and residential/commercial developer in Middle Tennessee. We are a privately owned firm driven to create new communities and commercial developments that are inviting and reflective of local amenities and community characteristics.   The firm maintains multiple residential communities and commercial developments in its private portfolio.  Our local team of seasoned professionals excel in deriving additional value from experienced planning and execution of acquisitions as well as new projects that are organically designed, programmed, and executed.  We believe that contributing, well thought out developments and reinventing existing projects create long-term value for the community as well as the firm.

The Position:

SBC is seeking a new Team Member for Land Development Project Manager. This will be for residential and commercial projects. The Land Development Project Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of residential subdivision and commercial site development including acquisition and entitlements, budgets, schedules, planning, permitting, development and maintenance of our projects. The Land Development Project Manager serves a crucial role in delivering lots and pads to our construction teams.

The successful candidate will have a background in site work, civil engineering or real estate project development. The candidate must have strong organizational and communication skills and a passion for success.

The Responsibilities:


  • Prepare development timelines and schedules for master planning, document preparation, and site development and administer a tracking system for all phases of the development for all projects.
  • Prepare budgets and schedules for acquisition, entitlement, development and delivery of projects within approved metrics.
  • Maintain current records of all site plan approvals, approved graphics, and engineering plans, permits, etc., per project.
  • Aid in bidding of project.
  • Build Project.
  • Track all costs and measure back to budget.
  • Deliver Lots or Pads to homebuilding for vertical construction.
  • Be involved in all aspects of the development of the project through its successful completion.

Team Member Characteristics:

  • Demonstrated experience with project management, deliverable tracking, and reporting.
  • Ability to review and comment on contractor agreements.
  • Ability to research ordinances, statutes, and regulations about land use relative to solar project land development.
  • Ability to coordinate, manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks.
  • Strong organizational, communication and management skills.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a proven ability to work with others in a friendly and cooperative manner.

Team Member Qualifications:


The Team Member should have a background in Land Development, Site Work Contracting or Civil Engineering or a combination of any of these.

  • Project Management: 3 years (Required)
  • Land Development: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Site Work Contracting: 3 years (Preferred)


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, real estate or related discipline
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in real estate development
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and financial modeling experience
  • Working Knowledge of CAD and Microsoft Office Suite Software


  • PE
  • Advanced degree (MBA)
